The DMSMCA community is a participant in the Province of Manitoba’s Community Led Emissions Reduction Program (CLER). CLER is a pilot program that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by focusing on neighbourhood level activities. DMSMCA’s CLER program focuses on compost pick-up from restaurants and businesses, educating our community about sustainable/organic yard care and implementing an active and safe routes to school program with Greenway School.

Some of our achievements to date include:

·Reducing 14 tonnes of GHG’s in less than a year
·Collecting over 15,000lbs of organic waste from local restaurants and businesses
·Selling over 30 composters and 50 rain barrels
